Gwidon is in fact that mage who was hiding in a closet when the Circle Tower was overrun by Demons and Abominations, at #5 in the Senior Mage Quarters. It is best to take on this quest after finishing the Circle Tower quest, and if you sided with the Circle of Magi instead of the Templars in its aftermath. Note that if you speak to him without enough gold to make the initial purchase, he'll blow you off and this quest will become unavailable thereafter. ![]() ![]() He'll promise to recoup your investment with interest after the deal comes off.
